Seller terms

These terms are between you and Coyfield Ltd (124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX), which runs The Belongings. Plain English, short on purpose.

How it works

• You list your own items. Each one is checked before it goes live; we may ask for changes or say no.
• Buyers contact you directly. You agree the price, collection or delivery and payment with them. We don't take payment for your items and aren't part of the sale.
• Private sellers: up to 50 live items free, with no time limit. More items can be added in small paid packs.
• Self-employed sellers and companies (traders in law): a free trial of 12 months from the day you join, up to 100 live items. The end date shows in your cabinet and won't be brought forward. After it: 20 items free, Pro for more.
• Extras like featured spots, social boosts or listing help are optional and paid, at the price shown before you ask for them.
• We can change the standard plan and prices to cover hosting and promotion. You'll get at least 30 days' notice by email, nothing already paid for changes, and you can remove your items at any time.
• Say honestly what the item is and its condition, with your own photos. Mark it sold as soon as it is.
• If you sell as a business, you show your business name and address, and buyers have the legal rights they get when buying from a trader.
• We can remove a listing or pause an account that breaks these terms, gets repeated complaints, or puts buyers at risk.
• We promote the site and its items as we see fit; we don't promise a sale.

What you can't list

• Weapons of any kind, including knives, crossbows, air guns, replicas and parts
• Drugs, prescription and pharmacy medicines, e-liquids, supplements making health claims
• Alcohol, tobacco and vapes
• Counterfeit or replica branded goods, pirated software, games or films
• Electricals that are unsafe, recalled, or sold new without UKCA/CE marking; second-hand electric blankets
• Live animals, animal parts from protected species
• Adult content or services
• Stolen goods, or anything you don't own
• Personal data, accounts, gift cards and vouchers
• Car seats and cycle helmets that have been in an accident or are expired
• Anything illegal to sell in the UK

Your details

We keep your email, name, area and the contacts you choose to show, to run your account. Buyers see only what you put on your profile. See the privacy policy. To close your account, email hello@thebelongings.uk.

Reporting a listing

Anyone can report a listing from its page or by emailing hello@thebelongings.uk. We look at reports within 2 working days.
