Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Maksim Namestnikov, trading as The Belongings collects through this website and why. Controller: Maksim Namestnikov, trading as The Belongings. Contact: hello@thebelongings.uk.

What I collect

  • Orders: name, email and delivery address, to fulfil your order and keep accounting records (legal basis: contract and legal obligation).
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. I never see or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
  • Price-drop alerts: your email and the item you asked about, to send that alert only (legal basis: your request). Every alert has an unsubscribe link.
  • Offers: your email, offer amount and message, to reply to your offer.
  • New-items emails: only if you tick the box or subscribe (legal basis: consent). Unsubscribe any time.

Who I share it with

Stripe (payments), Supabase (database hosting, UK/EU), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (sending emails), the delivery company for your parcel (name and address only) and, if you accept cookies, Google, Microsoft, Meta and Pinterest for statistics. I don't sell your data.

How long I keep it

Order records: 6 years for tax purposes. Alerts and offers: until the item is sold plus 3 months. Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.

Cookies and statistics

Always on, no cookies: your basket and saved items are kept in your own browser. The payment form uses Stripe's cookies to prevent fraud. I also count page visits myself without cookies: which page, which item, the site or campaign you came from and whether it's a phone or a computer. No IP address or ID is stored, so this can't identify you.

Only if you click “Accept all”: Google Analytics (visits), Microsoft Clarity (how pages are used, with form fields hidden), the Meta pixel (to see which Facebook and Instagram posts bring visitors and to show my items to people likely to want them) and the Pinterest tag. These set cookies and are run by those companies under their own privacy policies. Change your mind any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or deleted, by emailing hello@thebelongings.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
